How's everybody doing today? Good, I presume. Anyways, allow me to share my frustrations w/ you. It has been brought to my attention that in N.Y. there's a health department pamphlet teaching heroin addicts how to properly self administer heroin. Now, please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Heroin an illegal drug. Therefore, why in the H-E-double hockey sticks are we encouraging this nonsense. I am shocked & appalled that this is even an issue. I mean like SERIOUSLY! N.Y. needs to step their game up and quickly put an end to all this f*ckery (please excuse my profanity but that's the only word that I feel describes how I feel about this ish). New York City’s top narcotics prosecutor says a Health Department pamphlet that teaches heroin addicts how to shoot up safely is wrongheaded because there is no safe way to inject heroin.
Bridget Brennan said Tuesday that the pamphlet sends the wrong message. She believes it normalizes intravenous drug use.
Brennan says there is a glut of heroin on the market right now, and heroin use is increasing among young people.
Yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg defended the handbook because, he said, while no one should use hard drugs, the city has an obligation to diminish the risks for those who do.
ALL IN VEIN: This page from a city-distributed pamphlet--at a cost to taxpayers of $32,000--gives addicts the ins and outs of how to shoot up.
"It's certainly not in the interest of society to have you get HIV/AIDS," he said.
The pamphlet is being criticized as a heroin "how-to," as the 16-page booklet features seven comics-like illustrations and offers dope fiends such useful advice as "Warm your body (jump up and down) to show your veins," and "Find the vein before you try to inject."
It even encourages addicts to keep jabbing if their needles miss the mark.
"If you don't 'register,' pull out and try again," it says.

ReplyDeletei dont think they should be telling people how to do it they should be saying why NOT to. especially bc of how addictive this drug can be and what i remember from inorganic chemistry i think that makes it seem like its ok as long as you follow these rules, but its not.. wtv.
